GM ???????????????????? What is the likelyness that Gm is bailedout before the go bankrupts and if they are bail out how lo will their shares be
How could GM pay dividends up to the middle of last year? GM's balance sheets show that they have had a shareholder DEFICIT since 2006. It is my understanding that under corporate law companies can't pay dividends if this is the case. However, GM paid dividends until the middle of 2008. How can this be?
What will ultimately happen to GM and Ford and why do Americans prefer foreign cars? Really, what's going to happen to them -- takeover by a Japanese auto maker or maybe a joint venture? They're struggling and there's just no way they can sustain themselves for much longer. The Japanese auto makers seem to be way ahead in terms of reliability, design, fuel efficiency, environmental considerations etc. Can GM and Ford really survive or are they doomed to a Darwinian death?
How do you identify a GM 4L65E from a 4L60E transmission out of a vehicle? Do anyone know for sure if GM put the 4L65E behind the 5.3L in 2002?(Chevy suburban 1/2ton 2WD) Is there a for sure way to determined this without pulling the transnission? According to my VIN# I have a 4L60E. When I called to price a tranny I am being told that I have the 4L65E. I do know that my transmission pan has a drain plug .
What does it mean when a company such as GM liquidates? What does it mean when a company such as GM liquidates? I am not too familiar with the concept of liquidation. Is GM at risk of bankruptcy or is it bankrupting? Can someone explain this term to me in a simple way? I hear things about old GM and new GM which has confused me about this term because I thought once a company liquidates they are at risk of being bankrupt or going towards that area. But they can revive themselves with a new corporation/New GM?
When GM files for bankruptcy, How much of the stimulus money return to the tax payers? The United States Government has invested billions of tax payer dollars into GM, Chrysler and Ford. I personally been against the government being involved with private industries and financial institutes. Did you know that when a individual or corporation files for bankruptcy their dept is erased and their assets are liquidated. How much of that money will the government get back?
What happens to GM stock purchased AFTER the bankruptcy filing? My idiot neighbor apparently invested a large chunk of change on GM stock on Tuesday - the day AFTER the bankruptcy filing. What will happen to that stock? Does it become, in essence, a "penny" stock, a turn-around quick-trade not-really-connected-to the-company-at-all thing? Or is he secretly brilliant and will shortly double his cash? Does anyone know?
Should we force GM to get rid of UAW like they are getting rid of Rick Wagoner before getting more money? If these guys are really worth what they think they are, they should be able to find comparable jobs elsewhere. The union only protects incompetent lazy workers. Good, productive workers do not need a union. GM can never compete efficiently unless they get rid of the union. Then they can keep thier best, most productive workers, pay them a fair wage to keep them, and get rid of the slugs who do not pull their weight.
What would happen if GM declares bankruptcy? Is it more likely Toyota or somebody will buy them out? I have an old (12) year old car that is fuel efficient and still runs great. I hate to get rid of it just because GM went under.
Why would GM or Chrysler want to have less dealers to sell their product? GM & Chrysler are in bankruptcy because they can't sell enough cars to make a profit. GM & Chrysler does not sell us their cars. The independent dealer sells their product. These dealers are the automakers ONLY customer; without them they cannot sell cars. How does shutting them out solve the automakers problem. The dealer is the only source of income for the automakers not a liability. Add in the lost parts sales and warranty service the dealer provides and closing dealers makes as much sense as closing grocery stores to help improve Kraft Food's bottom line.
Now that GM is getting rid of the Pontiac line, are their cars still valuable? I had a family member trade in a Pontiac Vibe because they felt this car would no longer be a valuable trade-in once GM stops the Pontiac line. They had their car for about two and a half years. It was a brand new car and they traded it in because of what GM is about to do. Will their Pontiac line still be valuable even though they're going to stop making Pontiac cars?
How do I find out the GM and director of engineering of hotels? I work for a renovation company that sends out mailing lists to hotels so that they have them in mind if they ever think of remodeling. What is the easiest way to find out their GM and director of engineering? Its for hyatt and hilton hotels in the US. All I need are the names so when I send out the letter it has the right names on it.
What are some example questions a hotel GM should be asking their Director of Sales person? I am a new GM of a hotel and was informed that I am over the sales person as well. I was told that I have to have daily 5-10 minute meetings with the sale rep, to find out what is on the books and plans for the day/week/month. I am also to ask them several questions about their productivity? I am trying to get some ideas of questions I could ask or different was to put them.
How can the public take advantage of GM's vehicle close out inventory? GM (General Motors) claims they are closing more plants and have a lot of vehicle in inventory that they can't sell.Instead of buying a vehicle from other expensive dealers, how can I find out more about the closeout inventory that the corporation have? I'm asking because I want to buy a new car and I prefer new rather than used. Also, I am assuming they would be willing to negotiate for the best offer.
What happens if GM goes bankrupt and I have a lease? I have a Smart Buy option on my car, which is a glorified lease in my opinion. What happens if in the near future GM has to file bankruptcy? Will I be required to turn in my car, or will I have to come up with the money owed and pay them in full?
What would happen to stocks if GM declares bankruptcy? From Japan... Is it likely Dow Jones will drop down? Or Dow Jones will go up as GM's file for bunkrupthy is publicaly known as inevitable? I want to know what Americans think about GM's bunkrupthy and what Americans think would happen to stocks by it.
What credit reporting agency do GM dealerships use? I want to check my credit report and score ahead of time, before applying for GM financing. However I'd rather only buy 1 instead of all 3. If I can find out which Credit Bureau they use, that will tell me which one to buy.
