Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dealers Knowledge Base
should chrysler consolidate their 2 dealerships into one dealership? should they merger with fiat.? in the larger cities you have dodge and dodge truck dealers and chrysler jeep dealers. therefore they have to have duplicating models to benefit both dealers. exp. durango and aspen, jeep compass and dodge caliber, mini-vans, town and country and caravan etc. this would save money and offer chryslers as upscaled, dodge mid-compact and jeep as utility sport. fiat would offer super small car and diesel engines and save on retooling for new models.

2005 Chevy Uplander- review, do you own one? I am looking at purchasing a 2005 Uplander. It has 70 thou kms on it, the body is in perfect shape, and I like the style of it. I am test driving it tonight, but wanted some feedback on any issues owners of this vehicle have had. I don't know much about cars, and don't want the dealer to say it's a perfect van if it has some issues. I have read a lot of reviews on it and it seems split about 50/50 for people loving it or hating it! We have 2 kids, one in a booster seat and one in a car seat, and a large dog- does this van have the room, do you think? I wish it had stow n go seating like the Grand Caravan we drove and liked, but I really really prefer the style of the Uplander (may be as "cool" of a van that I can find, lol)...and the dealer is a chrysler jeep dodge dealer who is very reliable-- and the van is only $11 900!!! Help me out and give me your tips about the Uplander!! Thanks!

I recently asked about a electrical problem on a 02 Jeep Liberty, but no one seem to know the problem? All the electrical functional on my 02 Jeep Liberty were non-functional,including the ac, powere locks, entry alarm, lights, odometer, speedometer, cruise control. All these problem happened at once. It stalled and went out, but started back up with no problem. The car came on with the check engine light on. I've took it to three different auto mechanical shops, including Pep boys, and a Dodge Dealer. But none of them were able to came up with a solution. They all claimed to be a top master tech, but I had to pay for their diagnostic service with no answer. Relays, fuses, were all ok. So are the sensors, which some of them claimed to be the problem. I'm a mechanic myself, but when comes to electrical proablem, and computers, I'm all lost in space. With all of that, I can prob. guess and leaning toward the BCM (body control module). I can bet that the BCM can cause these problem. Now, with my guessing. To change the BCM out, can I do it myself? or do I need to take it back to the Dodge, or Chrysler dealer? I'm sure that it needs to be reset for it to recover these lost codes. But, I just don't have that kinda of wallet to jus' hand it over to the dealer. If anyone could help, please help.
Does this Mopar coolant have HOAT? In my Dodge Caliber it says use Mopar Coolant with HOAT. So, I went to my Dodge Dealer and he sold me this one gallon for 28 dollar. But it doesn't say anything about HOAT on the can? Did I get the right stuff? The guy at the service parts said he never heard about HOAT and always used this Mopar Coolant, on all Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler cars and trucks. Here is a link showing a picture of the can: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y91/7055/Neon%20SRT-4/srt4collection-1.jpg
Buying a Car? Okay i have bad credit. And i know car dealers are basically dead now. A dodge/Chrysler/jeep dealership says i can pick any car i want..My question is.....is the Finance rate (APR) negotiable?..like if they wanted to clobber me with 17% could i just walk away, or would they be able to do anything? I am not in need of a car, and i guess it would be good if i got a new one, but than again its not really like a top priority. I was thinking a Caravan or roomier sedan.. and i am not trading in my current car..putting 1500-2000 k down

Why is GM pulling down Ford along with it ? Out of the last couple of weeks all you hear about it the Big 3 Bail out. since the economy is down everyone is hurting. I have even read that Toyota, Honda and Nissan are losing sales also but not as much as the American Auto Industry. Now when i watch CNN, or C-span or other news channels, the CEO of GM is doing all of the Talking about what he and his company is going through. Now when congress goes and ask him a question like Sen.Nancy Pelosi as to why should they bail his company out he goes into well i am not the only company hurting. i normally only hear him talk about that only to me when it seems to be when he is cornered. Now i could understand why the GM ceo, goes and tries to include Chrysler because their sales is the worst compared to all 3 american car companies. I use to like Chrysler but to me by 2004 was the last year they came out with some decent looking vehicles, like the Pacifica, crossfire and that worn-out looking 300C. I even remember as a kid in the 80`s and early 90`s when you would go to a Chrysler,Plymouth, Dodge Dealer or it would be Jeep Eagle dearler, and i thought the Chrysler LHS/New Yorker was sharp i use it hear some people call it the poor mans Cadillac, i also liked the Chrysler Concorde/Dodge Intrepid/Eagle Vision styles and the Chrysler Sebring. but now i don`t like none of the Chrysler cars. even though Ford sales aren`t great either it is not as bad as they the Ceo of GM say they are. Do i think that Ford is being greedy? in some way yes. I do support the Auto industry, my grandparents always did and will always do GM, my parents have always did Ford, and one of my aunt did Chrysler for a little while. and i have a Ford myself.
Should I lease another vehicle from same dealer?? I have a Grand Cherokee that is set to be returned to the dealer in Septermber 08. I love my car, but with the price of gas these days- I want to dump it. Only problem is that I am going to be about 1500 miles over at lease end and I want a used Jetta. I was told if I stick with a car from same dealer the mileage would be waived and I wouldn't have to pay and fees. I want a Jetta but would it be better if I just stick with another Chrysler, Jeep Or Dodge( i can get either b/c they are all part of Chrysler financial)/
Which UK car manufacturers offer free breakdown cover as a perk of buying a new car from them? I am trying to find out which car manufacturers from the following list offer free breakdown cover as part of the showroom deal. This can either be arranged by the dealer themselves or be part of the insurance package they give-away (if any!). Please see the list of manufacturers below I am interested in: Nissan Mazda Mitsubishi BMW Rover/MG Audi Mercedes Landrover Kia Citroen Vauxhall Ford Peugeot Chrysler Chevrolet Dodge Toyota Fiat Honda Alfa Romeo Hyundai Jeep Mini Volkswagon Seat Lexus Renault Jaguar Skodo Smart Subaru Suzuki Volvo If so, which roadside assitance company do each manufacturers use? Maybe if we can get someone who has bought a car from each manufacturer brand new, we can formulate a list between us! Thankyou for any help you can provide. J G - Most, if not all of the dealer websites do not mention breakdown cover. The websites mostly advertise their finance options and real cash savings as opposed to smaller perks like breakdown cover. Thankyou for your input, you have been very 'helpful' I have given a call to each of these car manufacturers and they all offer free brakdown cover, generally for the first 3 years of ownership for a brand new car or 1 year for an approved used car. I have also found out which companies they use as well so thankyou all for your input
Why would a car stall after having the engine washed with a pressure washer? My brother recently test drove a 2001 dodge intrepid after the used car dealer power washed the engine. It stalled on us 3 times while test driving but it couldn't have been the battery because it started right back up with no problem. The dealer thought he may have gotten some plugs wet while washing, so he replaced them the next morning and it ran fine for a few days then started stalling again. What would cause this? Next, I test drove a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited after the engine was pressure washed and it stalled about 6 times during our drive. Again, it couldn't have been the battery because it started up immediately. Both cars drove fine with the exception of stalling. They were both washed in garages but it's still winter in iowa so it would have been forty degrees in either garage at the very most. The only common denominators i can identify is that both engines were washed in the cold and they are both made by Chrysler. Please help.
