How likely is it that Chrysler will be going out of business soon?

My mom wants to get my dad a Dodge Charger, but she's worried about what'll happen if Chrysler goes out of business. It would be harder to do maintenance. Do you think the deal with Fiat will go through also?

  1. Not soon enough
  2. It's not likely Chrysler will go under. The government has lnet or guaranteed enough money for a recovery and Fiat of Italy will provide technical assistance in exchange for about 1/3 of the company. Look for the poor management team to retire or be asked to leave. The Charger is a great car.
  3. Highly likely,Fiat or not Fiat. But it will be resurrected as another leaner, more competitive company thanks to the bankruptcy thing. If it does not sink,I don't see how that happens. But this is only my opinion,so do not count on it.
  4. its more likely that they are going to merge with chevy there has been talk about it for last couple months. there is also a rumor floating about it the the duramx will go bye bye and the cummins will take over diesel production if they do merge which would be the smartest thing GM ever did. go buy a dodge theres no better time to buy. ford will sink before chrysler
  5. truth is they been about to go out of business last 20 yrs so really not likely an deven they stop today you car you could get parts and work done for next 40 yrs you can still get parts and work done for cars older than that dont see any problems as for fiat who knows that car as been a roun da long time but never been a great car to own

I also stopped reading after that merger point. Not happening.
  7. Chrysler WILL die if people don't buy their cars. If they fall into bankruptcy, then hopefully they will resurrect healthier and stronger. If the warranty bugs you though, then I honestly still think it's safe. If Chrysler told you that you were on your own for the rest of your vehicle's life, then you can expect that they never plan to operate again. The Fiat thing, to me, doesn't mean much if they aren't going to give some money. I'd say go for it. The Charger is a slick car and the deals are huge on those right now. And to the guy that thinks Chrysler will merge with GM, where's GM going to get the money from? And while Chrysler is in the bread line, how come you are saying that Ford will be the first to die? The internet is a useful tool - use it before you go making false assumptions.
  8. THEY NEVER WILL! they have more ties with foreign automakers than anyone. Thats why Chrysler products last longer than GM and Fords. GM is doing the worst I hope they go down because theyre cars and trucks really suck. Ford has always been horrible on being reliable.
  9. Beware of warranty issues and resale value when the automaker goes under. If things go wrong under the so-called "lifetime powertrain warranty", and the automaker is out of business, they cannot pay for fixes!
