When is the best time to see leaves changr color around Detroit?

I live in Texas now and miss the leaves changing color in the north in fall. I am planning a trip to Detroit in the next few week. I just want to know when is the best time to come to see the leaves changing color? Thanks.

1. Some of the trees are starting to change now due to a high temperatures and little rain we experienced a couple of weeks back. Probably the best time would be early to mid-October - say around the weekend of October 11th.

5. October is a good time. If it's very dry it won't be as colorful as if there were a lot of rain. I love that time of year.
