Now that GM is getting rid of the Pontiac line, are their cars still valuable?
I had a family member trade in a Pontiac Vibe because they felt this car would no longer be a valuable trade-in once GM stops the Pontiac line. They had their car for about two and a half years. It was a brand new car and they traded it in because of what GM is about to do. Will their Pontiac line still be valuable even though they're going to stop making Pontiac cars?

- its hard to say. Certain models will increase in value others will decrease. the Vibe would probably fall into the decrease in value market as it was never a popular vehicle to begin with. Just because a car line disapears doesn't mean people still won't shell out money to get one especially if it is a car they like. For instance a Pontiac GTO will always catch a pretty penny when it goes up for sale. Take a look at Plymouth and you will see whats in the future for most of the pontiacs. Plymouth Barracuda sales for 3 times as much as the Dodge Challenger and they are the exact same car. "Johhny" doesn't know cars--simple changes like a different spoiler or different grill does not make them different cars, as for windows that is based on model year of the cars. They both use the exact same shell as their starting point go compare some pictures (thats probably all you'll ever get) between the 2 using the SAME model year. I on the other hand will head over to the shop where there is 1970 440 Challenger in desperate need of restoring sitting 3 cars down from a 1971 Barricuda and marvel at both of them. What you are saying is a 1994 GMC Suburban is NOT the same car as a 1994 Chevrolet Suburban because the GMC has a large mouth grille and lots of other little things--They're both Suburbans. A Dodge charger and a plymouth superbird are the SAME car yeah there's little differences like an aerodynamic nosepiece and a HUGE wing on the back but at the heart of it all--the same car. Cuda's sell for more because the "little" styling differences in the plymouth line made it more appealing, That and a little song named "Barricuda" helped catapult that particular styling of the car to the forefront. If you were to also note I did not say they SOLD more Cuda's I said Cuda's SALE for more meaning people are willing to pay more $$$ for a Cuda than they will for a Challenger with the same equipment
- Yes they will keep the same value...It won,t be more because it,s not considered a classic car...The previos answer said that challengers and cudas are the same car is wrong.Things that are different like the rear window rear valance and just to name a few...The reason cudas sold more is that they were made for alot more years...The challenger was not offered with the 426.This was not an option. The only h.p. option was a 440 six pack...The cuda was offerd with the 426.Thus a higher price.A six pack 70 cuda and a six pack 70 challenger sell for about the same price....You cannot take a challenger and turn it into a cuda...Like a satellite into a gtx..Now we have totally forgotten your question and are argueing about mopars. How selfish of us.....
- Only one pontiac will be extremely valuable. the upcoming Solstice Coupe.
